Workshop 1...

Hi Again,
I will be posting a couple of catch-up blogs today, as I'm a bit late to the blogging game and think it's better to have a new post for each part of the process.

On the 1st Novemeber, Max (my 4 year old son) and I drove to Lakeside to meet the #livelagom team. Max was very excited because I had promised him that if he was good, I would take him to "Meatball Tower" (his name for the ikea restaurant hahaha) after the meeting. We were given directions to the staff entrance at the back of the store, where we met some of the other new Laggomers. From there we were all led, by Christian (Lakeside's Lagom Project Lead), to a conference room where the rest of the team waited to greet us. At this point I should say a huge Thankyou to all of the lovely ikea staff in the room, who had set up a little area for the children to play and colour in and who were incredibly patient with the noise Max loves to create hahaha.

The session was great, the presentation was informative and presented in a light way that made us all relax and enjoy it. We played an eye opening icebreaker quiz, that really did point out how little I knew about the energy I am using at home. We met the team and all introduced ourselves, and what we hoped to get out of the project... it seemed that we are all guilty of the same things at home. We were taken to the restaurant for dinner (meatball tower for Max, thanks again hahaha), which was a lovely way to get everyone talking to each other, ideas were bouncing around all over the place, it really was great. After dinner we went back to our room and were introduced to induction hobs by another member of the ikea team, what a fab idea, I think the single ring hob might go onto my shopping list. We left with a goodie bag including a water bottle, lunch bag and lunch box (which have all come in very handy in our home). All in all I felt that I came away from the event excited about the project.... I told anyone, who would listen, what it was all about!!

In the days after the workshops I found myself inspired to have a good Kitchen Clearout... Wow, I had so much that I didn't need or use... out of date food found at the back of cupboards, a coffee machine I never use and a whole box of glasses I didn't realise I had. Crazy!!!
Thank you Team Lakeside xoxo
